Privacy policy
Last updated September 30, 2026
Ctrl Alt Networks Ltd. (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it and how we protect it. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us through our contact forms:
- Your name, email address and, if you provide them, your phone number, company and role
- The topic, budget range and message you write
- Any file you choose to attach
- Whether you asked to receive occasional IT tips by email
To protect the form from abuse, our server also processes your IP address. It is stored only as a one-way, salted hash for rate limiting, and those records are deleted automatically within 24 hours.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this website, for example which pages are read most and whether people arrive from search engines or AI assistants. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you visit, roughly where you are (city level), your device and browser type, and the website that referred you. It does not log or store your IP address. Google processes this data on our behalf and may store it outside Canada.
Analytics loads only after the page has finished loading. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it does not load at all. You can also block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s cookie settings; the website works the same either way.
What we don’t collect
We don’t use advertising trackers or sell, rent or trade personal information. Analytics data is never combined with what you send us through our forms.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and provide the information or quote you asked for
- To send IT tips and security alerts, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep a record of our conversation if you become a client
How we protect it
The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Form submissions are delivered to our business mailbox over an encrypted connection and are not stored on the web server. Attachments are checked, emailed to us and then discarded from the server. Access to our mailbox is limited to staff who need it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for client records, for as long as required by law and our contracts. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Email us at info@ctrlaltnetworks.com and we’ll respond within the time limits set by PIPA.
